Revisit Survey
Definition: A follow-up inspection conducted by the survey agency to verify that a facility has implemented the corrective actions described in its Plan of Correction and achieved substantial compliance.
In Practice
Revisit surveys typically occur 30-60 days after the original survey, depending on the severity of deficiencies. The surveyor verifies that each deficiency has been corrected and that the facility's systems have been changed to prevent recurrence. If the facility has not achieved compliance, additional enforcement actions may be imposed.
