Allegation of Compliance (AoC)

Definition: A written statement submitted by a facility to the survey agency asserting that the conditions constituting Immediate Jeopardy have been removed and residents are no longer at risk of serious harm.

In Practice

An AoC is required specifically for Immediate Jeopardy citations and must be submitted as quickly as possible — typically within 24-48 hours. It is separate from the Plan of Correction and focuses only on demonstrating that the immediate danger has been eliminated.
